How to build a cheap magnetic stirrer?

I want to build a cheap magnetic stirrer. I would like it if I could get all the parts at radioshack. Not essensial though. I would also prefer using a 9 or 10 volt motor. Someone Please tell me how!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you wanted something a little gentler, I don't like the whirlpool action, you could just wind a coil that the container would sit on with a magnet dropped into the solution then run a variable a/c current thru the coil and the magnet would just vibrate back and forth with as much force you you choose.

Magnet on motor. Magnetic-permiable container, over magnet on motor.. Magnet in container, preferably coated in something that (a) won't react with the contents of the container and (b) won't scratch the container. (Teflon, eg). Spinning one magnet spins the other magnet, which causes the contents to spin/mix. Pretty trivial. Or was there something else you were trying to find out?
I recommend the dollar store "cricket" magnets
BTW, there are at least two how-tos here on Instructables. More if you websearch.
