How to build a computer cluster?

Does anyone know a good way to connect some computers together to form a computer cluster that I can use as a single computer. My goal is to add on to it to increase the speed/capacity of the unit.

"Beowulf clustering" is the name given to a special versions of linux that can be used on multiple machines to form parallel processing clusters.

Ideally, you want to run the cluster on identical commodity hardware - I've been trying to get the school I volunteer in to build one from 10 Dells that were due to get passed on

No, Windows machines don't "cluster" in the way you can with Beowulf.
