How to create an adjustable fade in/fade out circuit for 27 LEDs? I would like some input on creating this using POTs to create an adjustable fade in/ fade out effect on the 27 LEDs while running on a 9v battery if possible.

Have a look at this 35 RGB LEDs Video .... to see a shirt pocket Heart changing Red hue in Step 2: on a 9V Battery and a PIC Stamp.

Failing that go here try this URL

It is worth seeing.

Oah crap I got to do this again something messed up the first time I tried to say this.

Yes it can be done in a number of different ways.

The first way, you can use a pic ( Programmable IC).

The second way you can build a 555 timer.

To drive a up down counter.

To drive a digital pot.

To drive a LED driver.

It is simple to do and hard to describe but it is not that hard to do if you can read a schematic.

Put them in series strings of six LEDs with a 100 Ohm resistor on each string.

Connect that to a 100 Ohm 0.25W pot.
