How to make sound activated lights for acoustic drums?

I want to make my bass drum light up every time it is hit. How would I do this? Thanks.

well i think you should use a motion sensor and put it on the drum so every time you hit it will light up.
i mean a sound sensor

place a push button (normally open) on the pedal in a place that it gets pressed when your foot pushes the pedal down. use the button to control one or more LEDs.

check this out if you dont know a lot about LEDs: http://www.instructables.com/id/LEDs-for-Beginners/

the button should be wires such that it lies between the power supply and the LED(s)

If you need more info let me know
it actually very weird i made this and then i read your comment! :D
You'll need a PC power supply and these.  Most of the inverters are already sound activated, and they're super bright.  Simply mount the lights and inverters to the drum.  Finding an inconspicuous way to run the wires may be a different story.
