How would you make a glass speaker?

I saw an article on Dvice.com that shows speakers made with glass plates as the "cone", standing vertical.  I imagine that the coil pushes against the glass somehow, and vibrates it, creating the sound waves.  I'm curious as to how to replicate this effect, and was wondering if anyone had ideas as to how they would make one...

(I'm thinking of attaching a magnet to the face of the glass and letting the horizontal/ lateral push of the voice coil make the sound...  basically, the forces of the coil are perpendicular to the orientation of the glass plate, which is standing upright)

Use a transducer from sparkfun.com It's like a speaker without the cone that you can glue to any stiff material and it transforms that material into the cone part of the speaker. Then use a variable pot to adjust volume response to a limit below what would break the glass.

i think that attaching magnets to the glass and using a voice coil might actually break the glass. this is not a regular speaker the vibration amplitude has to be very small to avoid unwanted glass shards flying around

I have a set of speakers built using drivers like these. My speakers are essentially thin sheets of wood, but it seems like glass would work as well.
