I have plenty of jasmine rice, some frozen corn, deep fryer with potatoes to fit for fries, frozen ground meat, a TON of spices, potatoes, hot sauces, orange and orange zest, lemon zest, a little cornstarch, etc. I have the works. What can I do with the works? Can you give and/or link recipes?

try something with pasta. everyone like pasta (except those who are allergic) and you can literally improvise it on the spot.

GoyBoys MMm good Zesty Orange Rice Pudding Caliente! rice pudding spiced with orange zest, cinnamon, a bit of cayenne, and little lumps of orange tossed on top when served. lemme see... You'll need 2 cups jasmine rice 3 cups water 1 cup milk 1 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp Cayenne powder 1 tbs orange zest sugar to taste (Im reluctant to say how much I'd use but maybe 1/4 cup brown or 1/3 cup white) 3-4 tbs butter (yuck) or sweet yummy margarine In a 2qt sauce pan bring to boil Water, Milk, Cinnamon, and Cayenne Add rice Bring to boil Reduce heat to simmer add orange zest simmer (covered) til tender remove from heat Add sugar and butter. stir til thoroughly mixed Serve and garnish with orange sections Maybe I should call it GoyBoy's MMm good Hacked Zesty Orange Rice Pudding Caliente

Wouldnt the water "water" it down? Or does that make the rice part of the pudding seem "ricey"?
seandogue in reply to PKTraceurSep 3, 2009. 8:53 AM
the water cooks it...I suppose you could do it with only milk, but I'd be worried that it would curdle. As I suggested, try it for yourself..modifiy to your heart's desire.

Better trim down that cayenne a little. I went a bit overboard with the hot I tried it last night, (with the exception of the orange...I don't have any oranges so I used lemon extract and only put it in as a last step to preserve flavor). it tastes like sweet cinnamony rice with a slight citric edge, kinda creamy...not "real" rice pudding, but quick and dirty. Try a quarter batch for yourself if you're curious... And as I said, cut the the cayenne back hard. maybe an 1/8 tsp or a little less for the batch size above. it was a bit hot for my tongue, although pretty tasty overall...I do variations like this on rice all the time. I have a friend who's a professional chef. He turned me onto creative cooking years ago and I never looked back . Might be improved with a drop of vanilla extract at the end too...and perhaps a dash of salt...not sure. It was (imo) good, but a just a tad too hot for a desert. It actually might have been good to bed a spicy chicken or with cajun style fish.

For a more authentic "rice pudding" I'd add some raisins as well, but I didn't have any and you didn't indicate that you did either...creative cooking is all about using what you have on hand.

I would also be inclined to bump the cinnamono up a bit , maybe another 1/2 tsp...and if you have any a dash of nutmeg or allspice, just to tweak the cinnamon flavor and throw people off a little.

Hamburger Sliders, and Home Made French Fries, or Spicy Cajun French Fries, like the ones from the restaurant Meat Heads
PKTraceur (author) in reply to flashanimatorAug 26, 2009. 4:14 AM
Sliders? Like, those mini burgers? I like the idea of Spicy Cajun Fries. A little pepper and salt, (Like, less than 1/16tsp) and some old bay. Add malt vinegar for some boardwalk fries! Yum. -PKT
