Welding Al is harder then steel - how much welding experience do you have?
The two metals together, I'd advise against trying, try another method.

For jewelery you would be better not welding I think, as it gets difficult on a small scale.

There are many good tutorials online about soldering aluminum and stainless (check Google), but are you sure soldering is what you want? Also check into brazing and welding, as those techniques may be more suitable for whatever it is you're trying to do.

I am making jewelry with the stainless steel and aluminum, I like to solder the ring close and making design with the wires.
Sounds like soldering would be the way to go, then.
...but you can't weld aluminium to stainless. You CAN braze or solder them.
Quite so. Just trying to cover the bases in the absence of any details about what we're trying to accomplish....

If you end up welding stainless steel, only do it outside with lots of ventilation.  Stainless steel may vent cadmium and other bad metals when melted during welding.
Cadmium ? Chromium, sure, but I don't know any standard series stainless with any cadmium in 'em - its too volatile. Damned stuff boils at 800 C

You might be right.  Probably are.  I don't use any of the stuff but picked up the info when researching an electrolysis project.  Thanks for pointing that out.  Still not good to breath the fumes.

TIG is your best bet in either case, but aluminum can be welded using a MIG rig.

You will ot be able to weld aluminum to stainless steel. period. Generally speaking, "welding" requires use of Metal A to Metal A, not metal A to metal B
