Both Mouser and Digikey are logical choices for someone in your area. Mouser has a better program for small purchases. Last time I used Digikey, their min purchase was $25 (US), whereas Mouser has a far lower minimum purchase rule.

They're neither of them walk in stores.

If that's what you're looking for, then I'd suggest cracking open the phone book. or walking into your local Radio Shack.

Oh snap, there really is a great place, i just can't remember the name exactly... sorry if this is horribly vague but its been a while since going to Toronto. Down from the downtown core, adjacent to a train yard, there is a string of restaurants, and various other stores all under the same namesake, crazy eddies, or crazy earls... AHAH! Honest Ed's that it. It is hit an miss when you go there though, you just never know what you will get, but the deals to be found for those that look!
