I need help installing mac operating system on old apple without internet?

I need to help my Grandma upgrade to the next operating system on her mac. Right now it is running 10.2.3 I would like to upgrade it to 10.5 or 10.4. I don't have a disk and she does not have internet connection. I hope you can help.

(more info.)
I tried downloading the operating system from my mom's apple and moved it to her computer and tried to install it, it almost worked but I got an error massage saying "the bill of materials was not found". This operating system I'm trying to upgrade is 10.2.3 (about 11-12 years old)

thank you for looking at this question

If the system is very slow running the OS version that came with it then it may have some bad RAM. The computer is getting up there in age so it may having some hardware issues. It's typical for things like the HDD to start wearing out after such a long period of time. So you could be dealing with corrupted sectors on the drive as well.

Not really a mac person, but if you don't have the disc for the OS you want to install, then you can't install it. Maybe go to the Apple store and see if they can help you. More than likely all they will help you with is upgrading to a new Mac, but it's worth a shot.

Other than that, I don't understand what you are asking...

I'm sorry what I'm asking is a little complicated. Let me explain it in a easier-to-understand way...
my grandma got a 8 to 10 year old computer

it was running slowly because the hard drive was full of crud. (when there is a lot of stuff on a hard drive the cpu has to search through all that stuff every time you open something up).

we wiped the hard drive with deleted: programs, applications operating system etc
