How to detect audio frequencies in the ranges of 190hz, 250hz and 285hz. Thanks!?

What are the advantages/disadvantage of using this LargeMouthBass' PIC processor/code over a LM567 Tone Decoder?

I might use an Aruduino or another IC to command the PIC(or 567) and to output to a couple of LEDs as visual indicators...

Getting to grips with DSP would be a great skill to acquire, and more flexible than the old 567.
