Making a Computer butler, What should it do?

I am making a Computer Butler in Python I Know how to program it I just need to know what other people would like a computer butler to do for them.

note: when I say "Computer Butler" I mean a program on your computer that you tell what to do and it does it for instance:

Master: Hello Butler how are you
Hello master
I am good, Thank you
Master: can you open a file for me
Of coarse, What file would you like to open? 
Master: Chrome
(Chrome opens)

I still haven't found a cheap way of having a computer control motors. Do you know of an instructable that has any information on that?

Easiest way is with a serial IO board.  Thet come with different capabilities (relays, opto-isolators, motor drivers etc) and you can control them from any programming language via your PCs serial port.

You can use your PC parallel port for simple inout and output with up to 12 outputs and 5 inputs.  No time look it up now but Google around for 'parallel port input output' or similar.

The use of this must be in place of something worse at the job. I'm not going to open an .exe is such a drawn-out way, but I might send a "butler" off to do some work while I'm busy with something else.

I think you can do better than this version, but the video is rather funny.  It should also give you some ideas like the music he plays and such.
