Meedle thread hole is side to side not front to back. Any thoughts?

We have had a lot of troble with directions to thread the needle. Most directions say front to rear hole. Is this someting we should change the needle so it is front to back. We spent a long time trying to thread the needle.

Hi! Sorry you are having this trouble. What kind of machine do you have? If you have a manual for your machine, look in there to see how your needle needs to be oriented (or look up a manual for the machine online). In almost all machines, the hole should be front to back, but a few (mostly industrial machines) are side to side, so I can't tell you for sure what is going wrong unless I know what kind of machine you have. This is also a pretty good description of how to determine which way to orient your needle if you can find a manual:

How about using a little wire "threader"? just lookin a sewing shop/hobby shop or ebay. It's a little flt disk with a pointy very thin wire which threads through a needle hole. My needle is side to side on my Singer domestic sewing machine.. not an issue now. It's so quick & cheap to buy. :0)
