Multimeter Capacitance Meter?

Can a multimeter with a capacitance meter measure capacitance of a home made high voltage capacitor?

Yes, but not test it for high voltage leakage. You need to do that (carefully) with a meter we call a Megger in the UK.

.  +1
.  Today's Worthless Trivia: Megger is a trademark for a company that makes, among other things, megohmmeters.
I WAS trying to remember the real name !

Would it stop leakage if I submerged it in oil?
Do you think its leaky ?

Your glass needs to be utterly, sqeaky clean - I'd dishwash it to make sure the thing doesn't track.

I'm going to make it in the next week.
Don't get your foil too close to the edges of the glass then.

It won't matter much if I submerged it in oil.
Can you bring a MOT up to 10kv by submerged it in oil?
It has to be the right, very dry oil.

Food grade paraffin?
Fresh ? Yes, it should work.
