My 55-gal. barrel has a polyacrylamide emulsion residue, can I remove it?
I want to use the barrel for composting and hope it can be removed, I have looked everywhere and talked to many people just trying to find a barrel to begin with. There are no sources near me for the barrels so I am hoping someone can help me figure out how to remove the residue left in this barrel.
It should be water soluable. It may have to be immersed for a day or two to dissolve. Scrubbing should help. It isn't one of the toxic or carcinogenic types is it? Don't tip the waste water down the storm water drain, it should be o.k. to pour onto the ground.

I don't think you need to remove the residue. Polyacrylamide and soil are not incompatible.
