NEED HELP WITH iPOD!!!

I have an ipod touch first generation, and it won't connect to my wireless internet. The intenet router is a netgear g mimo, and it says it is connected on the ipod, but no matter where I am, it says I have full strengh. It does have security, wep encription, i think. what should I do? I really need help, as this is starting to get annoying. If you need more information, please let me know.
