Nightvision glasses?

Im no pro but ive read that a digital camera can veiw infrared. Well is there a way to use a pair of sunglasses and rig up an old digital camera to them with the screen on the inside of the glasses and then attach ir emitters to the glasses so that i can veiw about 100 ft?

Yes, there is nothing wrong with this idea, besides it could be hard to fit all the components inside glasses. To test if a camera can see IR light, turn it on and press some buttons on a TV remote while looking at the camera screen.
