Now that iTunes has the App Store, is there still any advantage to jailbreaking an iPod touch?
I just got a new second generation iPod touch, and I was wondering if there was any advantage to jailbreaking it.

yea, you can still do stuff that apple hasnt allowed, like there are copy and paste apps that work in all apps so you can copy something from notes into lets say safari. or you can have themes, custom backgrounds, you can use a program that lets you download free music, its like the itunes on the ipod store, but free . jailbreaking is beast!
Okay, I see. Can I still get apps from the app store, or will I have to use ones specifically for jailbroken ipods?

if your ipod is a touch and not a phone, and it has volume comtrols on the left side, you can follow my almost foolproof instructable to jailbreak it. you can goto the step before the last to see some of the jailbroken cool things that i reccomend. here is link: here lol
I think that it's privilege escalation to allow for downloading and modifying of the ipod. I'm not really sure though. It's sort of hard to explain. I'm sure someone else could do a better job.
