I had a very nice big safe given to me, but no combination and it was full of valuable items. So with a LOT of help we loaded it into a truck and drove it to a locksmith. He could not open it. He said he would have to drill out the electronic keypad lock and replace it, for about $400.00 and I would have to leave it with him for a week. I took it back home. I asked my neighbor to help me unload it. As we were looking at the bottom of the safe we noticed there were 1/4 inch holes in the bottom for bolting it to the floor. The bottom plate was less than 1/4 inch thick, why couldn't we use a power saw to cut a hole in the bottom??!!!! That is what we did and we could open the safe from the inside. A new plate was welded on and a bit of paint she is just like new.

well you really only have 2 choices. 1) Guess the combinations, its yours and as long as its not hooked up to an alarm of some type, you should be able to try all the permutations, If the lock has 3 numbers, 0-9, you start with 000, go to 001, 002,003, etc. 2) call a locksmith as weissensteinburg says.

I wouldn't suggest that, as he would have to try 729 combinations, and that's if its a cheap safe and only has 3 numbers.
Where did you get 729 from? It would be 1000 possibilities.
Maybe Rotten194 knows the combination!! Seriously, I have opened a lock like this that had a 4-digit combination. It took a while, something like 6500 trys.... You'd have to be pretty unlucky to try all 10000. I'd try some common guesses first, like '0007', the address of the building, birthdays of owner, spouse, kids, repeating digits, phone nums, sequences, key numbers backwards, etc... When that didn't work, I'd go 0001, 0002, etc... The safe will open eventually with no damage for free. Depending on how long it takes per try, it might take months, but it is time you have.

If you could open it without the combo, it wouldn't be much of a safe, would it? If you're ready to pay, hire a locksmith. If you can find one who is a member of SAVTA (Safe And Vault Technician's Association), s/he will probably have greater expertise in this area. Cheap department-store "safes" are often simply destroyed since they cost less to replace than to repair.

Maybe call the company, first. Then a locksmith.

Forgotten? And you're the only person that knew it? What did the manufacturer say? L

Well can you post a picture or something? If there is holes you can proably hit the reset button on the inside with some fiddeling.
Call a locksmith.
