Potassium Chloride?

I have recently been gathering various chemicals for the coloring of fire (for our next campout) and have been trying to get potassium chloride (KCl) for quite a while. I know you can get it as lo-salt or some lother low sodium salt substitue, but it is usually about 1/3 regular table salt, which contains sodium. The yellow from the burning sodium would drown out the purple of the KCl. I was thinking of combining KNO3 and NaCl to produce NaNO3 and KCl, but I don't know how I could possibly separate the mixture. If anyone knows how the separate the two dissolved mixtures or how to purify/synthesize KCl with reasonably obtainable materials, it would be much appreciated :)
