Router Project?

On one of my recent bike rides I came across an old (I assume from size) network router. Now being a collector of anything electronic I stored it in my back pack for future use...However as I began to think, I realized I had no idea what to do with the thing.

Here is the most basic infromation on the router:

- Made by SMC
- Called: BARRICADE SMC7004VWBR
- Wireless network router, with a standard four ports on the back
- Made in Taiwan (just thought that might be important)

So does anyone have any idea on what I can do with this router? I already have a wireless router at home so that use it already filled.

And yes, it is fully functional.

I can tell you from experience that there are no parts worth desoldering and re-using inside the router. I once did this, and all I got was a female power supply jack. If your router is in working condition, hold on to it and use it for something pertaining to computers.
I am an electronics hacker/hobbyist and not a computer hacker. I wouldn't know what kind of DIY computer projects you could do with it. I hope someone else sheds more light on the computer-hacking side of this topic.
All the best.

Yea, I was going to gut it at first, but I wanted to see if there was anything usefull/cool I could do with it. Thanks for your help.

Perhaps, but how much do you think its worth?

It's worth what someone will actually pay for it, putting a cash value on things is often meaningless.

There are some routers which can be flashed with new software to make them more general servers. As far as I know, this isn't one of them.
