Shading for a flat surface. ?

At the end of lesson two, you have a sketch of a cube with rounded corners. I guess the edges should be drawn before the shading is added. To what extent should a flat side be shaded darker or lighter than the edges? What if the edges of the cube are rounded?

Good question. In general, you'll want to draw edges before any shading is done. Generally, rounded cubes look more realistic if the flat sides are slightly darker than the rounded edges, we cover that in detail in Lessons 3 and 4.
