Small Heating Element.

Ok, so I need a small heating element to reach between 200-365 F that can be powered by small batteries. Got any ideas?

Depends on what you intend to do with it - How small is small and how long you expect the battery pack to last.

Insulation is going to be an essential to prevent heat loss. BUT if you intend to melt ingots of aluminium then battery isn't the way to go.

Remember that what your trying to heat is going to be taking the heat away from the element - haw fast depends on how big a thermal load it is.

Sorry, I'm trying to build a portable vaporizer.. For smoking tobacco and other herbs. Kinda like those electronic ciggs. I just wanted to experiment with different designs for myself. The heating element would need to be on for 5mins at a time. I'm looking to get maybe 5 uses out of it before it dies. So 25mins of on time at 300degrees at the most. I know nickel chromium isn't the best choice, but I can't find a small ceramic element without buying a lot from china lol

as far as i know, those e-cigz vaporize some sort of tobacco oil, i think the solvent is isopropylic alcohol, so you don't even need to go up as 100 Celsius to vaporize it.
to improve battery life i'd guess this is the way to go but I'm not sure though how the liquid is prevented from leaking...
The answer depends very much on "how small", the volume of the thing you are heating, and the amount of power this requires.

For example, the filament in a battery powered flashlight (the old kind, not an LED-based flashlight) can be thousands of degrees F, literally white hot. So it's really hot, but only in a very small volume of space.

A very thin nichrome wire will do it, powered by a small battery.
But I bet you want to do some thing like wood burning.

The battery will decide how much heat will be able to transfer.
