I have a tape recorder, but have no Idea what to record / do with it! What do you suggest?

Go into the streets and practice being a reporter. Ask people what they think about a current issue (check the news that morning to see what the current issues are) - Make sure you ask open questions as opposed to closed ones e.g. NOT "Do you think we should all carry ID cards?" but "What do you think about the government's plans to introduce ID cards?" When you get home you can connect the recorder to the line-in of your PC and convert the recording into an MP3 which you can edit and upload to your podcast blog.
