Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X error message: HELP!
When I click the little icon to run the program an error message pops up that reads "This application has failed to start because file D3dx9_39.dll was not found. Reinstalling this application may fix the problem. I installed it again and again and still the message comes.
P.S yes it is a legal copy, I bought it for £20!

The reason this is happening is that Vista doesn't come with some of the older Direct X 9 dll's, so games that depend on them won't run. Fortunately, this is easy to fix, just download you dll here http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?d3dx9_39 and put in in your C:\Windows\system directory.
I've had that happen with various programs before, a re-install should fix the issue, check the discs in good condition and clean, it should clear up the problem after re-installation. if it continues you may need to take it back and explain you've got a bad disc...
