Ubuntu keeps freezing on me?

I recently installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my flash drive to run on windows but  when I get it running it only works for about 30 minutes then just freezes. Does anyone know how to fix this?

what kind of graphics are you running?. Integrated or a discrete video card.Did you install the drivers from the Restricted Drivers repository?
just a few questions to answer here first.

Most freeze-ups I've had with any Linux distro have usually been related to hardware, generally driver problems.

Are you using any beta drivers? Even video drivers can cause problems, if your card is new or has other issues (like a proprietary closed driver)...

I don't really know anything about the drivers. Everything is just the same that came with the computer. It is a vista

Also, it could be a heat-related problem, if it happens repeatedly around the same time after startup...

That's still a Beta, it could be a bug or not compatible with something on your system or most anything.
I'd recommend you go back and download Ubuntu 11.10 and wait until the final release is done to try 12.04.

Well I had originally downloaded 11.10 and had the same problem so I downloaded 12.04 hoping they fixed something in that version.
