What Should I do?

This isnt really a "make it" question, but I don't know where else to ask it. I have a friend who just started playing lacrosse this year. This is my fourth year. He thinks he is some sort of lacrosse prodigy or something. He also thinks that he has to best everyone. I get new gloves, guess what, he goes out and buys better ones. He already has like 8 sticks, yet he hasnt even played in that many games! Everything I say he claims is wrong, and he thinks that he is better than everyone! What should I do?

You just have to accept that there are people out there who behave this way and will always try and "one up" you; and there isn't really anything that you can do about it. They are who they are, just like the sky is blue. Don't let it bother you and don't encourage these kind of people by accepting a challenge. If he gets gloves after you, or yet another stick, or thinks he knows everything, then let him. It shouldn't have an affect on YOUR life. Just let it go... You can't change these people.

Beat him on the playing field, give him a big smile and walk away. He'll get the point.

I have beat him. He just continues to act like he does.
Keep beating him.
If that occurs, eventually he's gonna hit on it. Maybe in a bright flash of light...possibly after a knock to the head with an "accidental" hit? ;)

Anyways, author, be prepared for said friend to act this way until he/she matures enough to realize they are not the best. But that might not ever happen, and you'll just have to accept that.

Performance on the field is the only thing that really matters here.
