What activities to do in a Hackfest?

We are going to do a Hackfest in my town, for the promotion of our hackerspace. So, basically, we'll put out posters and invite people and we're going to have some soldering workshop, we'll be making PCB's and we'd like to also do other activities, like, creating something. We thought of LED throwies but I was wondering if the amazing community of Instructables would recommend some other stuff to do as well :)
Any ideas? What can we do that is cool and will inspire people to want to take part in our community? We're still trying to get our hackerspace up and running so we don't have big budget unfortunately.

Get people to bring their own old electric tooth-brushes, provide a bunch of random junk parts, and visitors can turn them into bristlebots or vibrobots.

Buy small electronics kits and sell them at cost to people who want to make them there and then.

Print out a bunch of paper-craft projects and provide glue and scissors.

I will try to find cheap motors, not sure it will be easy though!

That's why I said for them to bring their own electric toothbrush.

The cheap kind, that just buzz without any bit of the head whizzing about have a vibrobot-perfect motor in them already. In the photo I posted, the only thing that did not come from the toothbrush was the legs. The motor is inside the bit with the blue wiggle on, and the latching switch that was behind the on-off button is sticking out at the right.

The only reason it is on legs and not bristles is because I accidentally glued all the bristles together.

You can hack a mobile phone or a scrap hard disk or floppy drive to make something totally new! Some B.E.A.M robot or solar bots, line tracers or something totally new. You can also have robo races, make Joule thiefs and many more! Don't forget to take photos and make an ible of the same. ATB!
