What do you do when an orchid stops flowering?

I've had this orchid for a little under a year, and it has been flowering for about the past three months. I believe it is a phalaenopis orchid, but I could be wrong. Recently, the blooms died, and the top of the stalk began to wither. The plant appears to be healthy, and I have been watering and fertilizing it regularly. Should I cut the stalk, and if so, how low? are there any good ways to re-stimulate flowering? Thanks

Cut off whatever is brown. Give it extra loving and classical music (no joke).

Without sounding unfriendly, have you tried asking this question in an actual orchid forum?

While there are a lot of very intellegent and resoresfull people here, orchids are kinda specialized and tempermental. I would think that you could get your answere there very quickly.

You could even do an instructable on what you learned there.

Good luck.
