What is a good, cheap (free?) 3 axis CNC software?

For a 3 axis, mobile x axis bed, with gantry holding y and z. Hopefully free. Thanks.

Don't see anything special except maybe the one in the last link. Looking into kcam and mach 3, but wish I could find something great for free. EMC2 looks great, but I have no computer that I can sacrifice to linux. I already have 4 computers I'm using. Thanks for replying though. I won't say you are best answer so as not to discourage other possible answerers. Thanks snow

Thank you snowpenguin and curtk for your replies, they are pointing me in the right direction. I would choose either of your replies as best answer. I wish there were more people like you answering this.

Since this page is in the top 10 of the "freeware cnc software" search, Let me share what I found...

I made my first cuts using draftsight-- its free and 2.5 D which is good enough for now, and includes a graphic editor. It is FREE no trials, no striings attached.

and turbo CNC to run the steppers.

If I find other things, I will update it here.
