What is does 200 mA stand for on a power supply?

I am trying to figure out the amps on a power supply. It has an input of 120v, 60 Hz, 4w. Output is 6VDC, 200mA. I just don't know what the mA is.

the mA stands for milliamps... so for example, your power supply can safely output 6v ats 200mA (or 6v at .2 amps)

The amperage is how much current it can give out. For your project, whatrever is being powered can safely pull UP TO 200mA. It is fine to use a power supply with more amps than you need, but it is not safe to pull more amps than the supply is rated for.
