What is the input value on an atTiny85

I am programming an atTiny with Arduino as the ISP and am wondering if an analogRead will come out between 0 and 1023 like arduino or a different value such as exact voltage or a different reference.

It'll be a digit, just like any other ADC reads. The reference volts is actually in your control to some extent too.

I think he's asking how many bits of resolution the adc has -

which according to digikey

http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/ATTINY85-20PU/ATTINY85-20PU-ND/735469

the attiny8 (8-dip) has
4x10bit adc

so it gives a value of 0-1023 for 0-5 volts. not sure if it has an external reference voltage.
