What is the origin of the "Weenie Man" song?
Weenie Man Lyrics:
I know a weenie man
He owns a weenie stand
He sells most anything
From hotdogs on down
One day I'll join his life
I'll be his weenie-wife
HOT DOG! I love that weenie man
Does anyone know the origin, and whether the song would be under copyright protection?

Where did you hear it? A summer camp or something?
As for copyright, just do a search on google. Use "copyright weenie man" as your first search term.
I googled thoroughly before asking. One site said something about it being on an early 80's tv show, and I found another reference to a different version of the song being listed in 1947 as a girl scout song. This version was apparently racist, and caused GSA some trouble in the 90s and they were forced to apologize and order Girl Scouts not to sing it anymore.
Plenty of sites list the lyrics (many of which are different from one another), but none seem to show the origin of the song. I have to assume it's at least a bit older than 1947, but am hoping someone can verify that for me.
