What kind of motherboard will suport 3-way SLI, an Intel Core i7-980x exteme edition and 6gb of RAM?
Im trying to make a gaming pc that wont become completly obsoulete for atleast a year after building, I want to use 3 nVidia Geforce 480x GPUs in a 3-way SLI but the only motherboard sold by nVidia that supports 3 way SLI wont fit the Intel Core i7-980x extreme edition I want for it. And I want 6 gb of RAM so I can play games pn very high settings without lag, So does anyone know a motherboard that will work with what I want?

You give me the impression that you've picked some bits that you think are going to be powerful, but you don't really know how to put them together.
I'd start with a good board, for example:

(read the spec' on that - "Support for 2-Way/3-Way ATI CrossFireX™/NVIDIA SLI technology" "6 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 24 GB of system memory")
Then select your CPU, memory, Graphics.

If you've got the cash, it's not really that hard, but do start with the board - if you get something good you'll have a choice of good bits to plug into it.
What are your plans for software (OS)?

I just searched the cpu, found its a 1366 intel socket... then searched motherboards for that socket... got a pile of options.
One of the first in the list has in its name that it supports 3xSLI and tonnes of ram.

huge corporate network (14000 users)...they say only ie is allowed for compatability reasons, and I dont think I'm allowed usb thumb drives or downloading software, or I'd have portable firefox in a heartbeat.
Ooops, I forgot you were using someone else's resources. I suppose you sniff dry-erase markers too..?
