What or which PNP Complementary transistor can I use with a N-Channel IGBT HGTP10N120BN 35A 1200V NPT Transistor ?

I can't find a 1200v PNP transistor.

I don't see much point using IGBTs these days, with the MOSFET designs we have now - reaching 1200V and high currents, whilst being a LOT easy to drive.

What circuit are you trying to use ?

I'd always buy a "proper" driver these days than roll my own. International Rectifier make some good ones.

Steve
Did you see the circuit I sent you ?
Ed.
I am powering a DC motor coil with 620v. My armature is made up of very strong earth magnets . Reversing the polarity of the coil every 1/2 cycle runs the motor.
This motor runs great using (8) brushes that i'm replacing with solid-state.
Using 620v it only draws 2 amps.
If there is somthing better than IGBTs, I'm all for it .That is why i'm asking questions.
I put a H-bridge togeather using four IGBTs, but by not knowing any more than I knew then I used (4) NPN trans and It BLEW- UP.
Thank you very much for answering
Ed.
Show me your circuit.

High power bridges for inductive circuits are not for the amateur.

Steve
Call me what you like, but I've got 82 years of being carfull, and somhow I will
find the answers. But thank you for being concerned.
Ed.
I'm just warning you, that without extreme care, you'll blow a LOT of device up until you get a working bridge, if you roll your own.
I agree with you, That is why I ask..

SHOW ME YOUR INTENDED CIRCUIT. There are dozens of potential topologies and component needs.

MOST H bridges would use all-N channel devices.

Will this circuit work using my IGBT HGTP10N120BN 35A 1200V NPT Transistors, if I can find the PNP transistors to match ? I powered up one of the 1200v transistors using this circuit and it would pull the rotor into position and hold it there power on and not get hot. I could turn the gate on and off and it worked. problem was when I added the other 3. All 4 of them were NPNs. Ed.
