What sources of aluminum are safe for casting into cookware? I have lawnmower engines, soda cans, lawn chairs.?

I'd like to make some aluminum bowls and pans, what aluminum alloy sources are safe to use for this?

You mean "safe to cook with?"
http://aluminium.matter.org.uk/aluselect/01_applications.asp looks useful - see if that does it for you?

Well, Wikipedia wasn't much use, but it got me thinking - you want to know what alloys you've got and what alloys are used for cookware. Drinks cans are lacquered I believe, so they're not necessarily food-grade metal? Having said that, the mechanical properties are probably as important for commercial manufacturing - not a lot of cast cookware.

Look forward to seeing what you can do (I almost made a sugar-bowl once, but the sand was a bit too damp...)
