What would be the best way to dye a plastic bag?

I've been trying to fing a green way to dye bags for a long time, mainly so I can have some different colors for my woven plastic bag bags... Does anyone know a green way to dye them? Or at least change their color?

I don't think that spray painting is green, but thats about it. Maybe, use chlorophyll for a "green" colour :)

Most artificial materials are hard to dye -- even when they're in the form of threads in a fabric. It's much easier to mix coloring agents into them during manufacture, or to paint color onto their surface. Another possible approach would be to interweave the plastic with something else that's deeply colored.
