I bet polymer clay would work, too. I've used plastic liquor bottle caps (Bacardi has a bat on it) to make impressions in wax for stage props, so the polymer clay should be fine, especially if you wipe it with a tiny bit of oil to prevent sticking.
This assumes that you are just looking for the ability to stamp custom wax seals, and don't care if the stamping device itself looks authentic.
