Which firberglass and resin should I use for a custom paintball stock?

I am building a bullpup stock for my little brothers Tippmann A-5. I have a rough model coming together using pink insulation foam board and some lexan for the trigger group. I obviously need this thing to be strong enough to take some punishment since it will be used in paintball games, but I have never fiberglassed anything before, and I'm clueless as to what kind of sheet/cloth to use and if the resin I use will melt the foam core. Any help is definitely welcomed.

Do not use "polyester resin" as the styrene in that resin is a good solvent for many types of foam.  I have used cheap epoxy resin such as that sold by U.S. Composites with good results on pink and blue foam.  (One pint kit is $16.50 http://www.uscomposites.com/epoxy.html ).

Several layers of 4 to 6 oz. glass cloth should do the trick.  Practice with pieces of scrap foam.  You'll have to cut pieces of cloth to conform to the grip.

Good luck!
