Which lacrosse gloves do I choose?

When deciding, consider function over fashion. The switch cuffs IMO, shouldn't be a positive selling point. I've been scorekeeper for hundreds of lax games, and what a players gloves look like (and whether they reflect home games or away games), is irrelevant. What you should be concerned about is how they fit your hands, how you are able to hold the stick, and whether or not they offer you enough protection when someone is slashing your hands. Everything else is just a marketing ploy. Color and style is merely a personal choice and shouldn't be what drives your purchase decision. If you have concerns over price, then consider the Brine if you feel there is no major difference between the two as far as function is concerned.

One of the main factors for me is protection. I play long pole (defense) and I need protective gloves. The Brines boast lightness, and I wonder if along with that comes low protection.

Lightweight doesn't translate into poor protection. It's the density of the impact foam that works to absorb energy and prevent injury.

Are you purchasing online or through a store? Either way, I would get my hands on them and give them a try. Put on a glove and literally hit your hand with a stick to get a sense of how well they perform.

Not enough to select a best answer. I still have to talk to a few more people that I know, but I am leaning toward the Warriors.
