Would it be possible to make a 3D scanner using 4 flatbed scanners in a square setup and custom software?

I was just wondering...

3D colour scans possible using old, spare or salvaged flatbed scanners?

I have little knowledge about how it works and am purely curious.

Thanks :)

Yes, now it looks like it can be done but just need one scanner... how i know because im the inventor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Gnl61yzVoc

No. scanners don't have lenses so they won't focus and image more than half an inch or so off the glass.

Thank you for clearing that up for me :).
There are several software packages out there that convert several 2d pictures to a 3d model. Re-design points out that flatbeds wont work but a jig with a digital camera could.
