XBox plug an play: can you get it to work with a USB wall charger??

Title pretty much covers it. I have a planed project in mind, but for it to work, I need to have the xBox plug-n-play cord to work with a standed wall USB charger, no a computer/xbox.

USB is Universal. All USB plugs have to follow the USB specification. So they need to output 5V @ 250mA minimum. Most average about 500mA. Either way it will be able to charge the controller.

That;s what I thought. But (and I don't know why this is the case) I can not get my cord to charge with anything other then a PC/xbox.
