That would really depend on how involved you wanted to get! =D
You could build a simple frame and then perform experiments on damper systems and suspension geometry!

A project like that would involve theory of moment arms, loads, spring coefficients and the like. Then devise an experiment to test the theory!

Any college level dynamics book should have loads of information, and if in doubt, ask a mechanical engineering professor, especially someone in machine design and dynamics.
