(taps foot waiting for hate mail)
I knew I shoulda taken off my tinfoil hat this morning. It wreaks havoc on my telepathy, but it does keep the mind-control lasers at bay....
FEH, the CIA can penetrate Aluminum foil. and let's not even talk about the lil grey men.

You need a steel cap that's connected to a high voltage power supply to thwart those guys, but it has some negative side-effects....
That's what I tried first.

Come to think of it, that may explain a lot.

There are two types in general use

1. P/S2  this is an older mouse connector that's used on older PCs. Available on PCs dating to at least 2006.

2. USB. Modern standard. Available for mice on computers dating back to around 2000

You can buy a mouse fro around $10 US in either PS/2 or USB styles.

USB is much easier because it hot be "hot swapped" meaning that it can be connected and disconnected while the PC is running, whereas the PS/2 style must be connected at system boot to be recognized by the system.
