could someone cut a piece of plastic for me?

i have a mp4 player i got a few days ago, but i find that the original cover plastic has a sort of paint that, when combined with the glare of ambient sunlight, makes it totally impossible to use the player outside. not only that, but the plastic on the front got a really nasty scratch on it when i was cutting open the box.

its 1mm thick.

if i gave the dimensions of the plastic part thats scratched (gold-silvery part of the player) could someone cut a new piece for me, be it laser cut, cnc milled, or by hand, whatever.
all i ask is that its clear plastic.

Picture of could someone cut a piece of plastic for me?

Looks like a scratched screen protector to me.
I bought specific screen protectors for my iPad and iPod (they're cut out to the proper dimensions).
If you have a brand name player here (somewhat looks like an iPod touch), you should be able to get readily available screen protectors.
If it's not a known brand you can do the following:
I owned a palm handheld a long time ago, and as there were different models (with different sizes), they made protectors that were just rectangles that were bigger than the biggest available device. They provided a template for the different sized devices though so you could cut them out to the device you owned.
I have been using these protectors for my DSLR screen, my Zune mp3-player and god knows what else.

You can cut the screen protectors with regular scissors. For the hole at the bottom, you could use some cutting iron (sorry, I don't know the appropriate name for this). But it's just like a cookie cutter form (select the proper diameter) which you use with a hammer to make circular cut outs in sheet metal.

Look for "self adhesive screen protector" on ebay or amazon and select one that is bigger than your device.
Once you have the dimensions measured, you can make a template and easily make a suitable screen protector yourself.

its not the screen protector, i removed that the day i got it, it is in fact the actual plastic in front of the screen.
i apologize if i wasnt clear enough about that.

i have a pack of those Palm branded screen protectors for when my zire was working, i still have some of those left, i use them on my ds most of the time though.

It may just be your photo, but it looks to me like there's still a peel-off protective sheet on there, front and back.
That scratch doesn't look too good though.

no, i peeled off the small square protector the day i got it, the ones these come with when theyre shipped make the touch screen less responsive.

ok you guys, i will start by saying that the device didnt come with much for a screen protector but a small square and a plastic baggie, it is in fact the plastic on the front, screen protectors wont really hide a scratch that big...

what im asking is if i gave the dimensions of the plastic part thats scratched (gold-silvery part of the player) could someone cut a new piece for me, be it laser cut, cnc milled, or by hand, whatever.

sorry if i wasnt clear about that.

unfortunately its a bit thicker than a ipod and has a smaller size in terms of width and height, so any ipod accessories wont work with it.
