Summer is a very long time to wait for a first-date. Are you age-restricted, or could you fit one in February 14th?

Yes, but that's months away; what about next month (in between then and now)?

According to Wikipedia, Indian Lake has a number of small islands.

It would be romantic to row her out to an island with a picnic hamper.

To be on the safe side, take citronella candles to keep the mosquitoes away.

i don't want to spend a lot on a boat since i am waiting to get paid.

You could hire a row-boat (I don't know how far the islands are), or maybe borrow one.

Otherwise, a gentle stroll to a quiet lakeside area with a picnic that you have prepared yourself is a romantic classic.

i shall try that sometime during the summer

Where are you
How old
How much do you want to spend
What sort of time involved
How far can you travel
Even what gender are you

I used to take my first girl friend for walks in the local country park - we used to cycle there & take a picnic.

really, your best placed to answer this.

i live in Ohio. i am 15. i don't want to spend anything because i don't get paid a lot. i was thinking of a picnic and romantic walk on the beach.
Sounds like you HAVE some ideas.

Everyone you ask will have a different idea, so feel free to discard any that aren't you..

My idea: If you can, pick up some fresh bread, cheese, and a couple of your favorite variety of apples and go for a hike that somewhere appropriate to picnic. (Pink lady variety have been nice this winter where I live) Grab a cloth to sit on (put ingredients in cloth and tie it off to carry), and it will give you a simple simple picnic. I also like slicing up the apples on the spot so you can try and talk about different combinations of fruit, cheese, and bread.

Best o' luck!
