flyback transformers, a little help please.

I just took apart an old monitor for some high-voltage experiments, but I am wondering how I should feed the voltage back to the Flyback transformer. there are 3 wires, the one with the suction cup (the 10,000 volt wire), a white one and a red one. should I use the white or the red to finish the circuit? or is it enough to connect it to the ground? or doesn't it even matter?

Here's a good article about using a flyback for alternate purposes.  Check it out and see if it gives you any clues on how to identify the pinout of your flyback.  I am hesitant about giving suggestions on HV work without acutally having the item in question in my hands.
