is there any substitute for kerosene/parafin oil

It depends on the application. Generally any hydrocarbon can burn. Edible oils, mineral oils alcohols, gasoline, diesel, tar, wood, charcoal, hay, etc. If it is suitable as a substitute depends on what you intend to do with it...
