You'll need a Y splitter (mini plug/2 RCA) to plug into a phono preamp, then 2 RCA cables to plug preamp into a USB Analog to Digital Converter, and finally a USB cable to your computer. From there I have no idea.... (don't use virtual dj).

thanks for the answer. y shouldnt i use virtual dj. my midi dj controller has a mapped thing for virual dj and thought it would be the easiest way to do it. what should i use instead?
Sorry. I didn't mean for you to not use virtual dj, I meant to say that "I don't use virtual dj"...

o lol kool kool i understand now lol
I don't user virtual DJ either, but just so you understand, all it will do is feed the audio into the computer, it's not the same thing as having a USB turntable that can be controlled by the computer. Your old turntable is analog, a USB turntable has a USB driver in it. That is the difference between the two. But if all you want is the audio feed, then canucksgirl is correct. Good luck! :)

i would like to turn them into usb controlled turntables or at least be able to use them for scratching. i can do the mapped driver through a dj program. its ether i try it this way or i have to mod my dj midi mixer and just use the top of the turntables. which would be easier?
If you know how to manually scratch on a turntable, then you should have no problem. Otherwise, you will have a lot of work to do. Basically, you will need some sort of microprocessor to convert the USB signals which are digital into an analog control. Might be able to work with an Arduino.

ok kool thank you

Hey, I know this situation has been resolved, but I'm looking to do the same thing, did you manage to convert your turntables to midi controllers? If so, how? Thank you so much!

No problem! :)

No one mentioned it but if you are going to use it on VDJ you will need to have timecode vinyls for it to work. Or you can make your own turntable from a usb mouse.
