According to a nurse, the head alone cannot be removed.

(She then proceeded to use a pair of sterilised eyebrow tweezers to remove a tick's head from Conker-X's chest.)

I'm told that Vaseline will kill it, it will then release, and you can take it off. Again, I've never tried it, but I know people who have.
1. If possible, clean the area with an antiseptic solution or soap and water. Take care not to scrub the tick too hard. Just clean the skin around it.

2. Use blunt tweezers or gloved fingers to grasp the tick as close to the skin as possible.

3. Gently pull the tick straight away from the skin.

4. If the tick's head breaks off in the skin, use tweezers to remove it like you would as splinter.

5. If you live where tick diseases are common, save the tick in a small bottle of rubbing alcohol. Your doctor can check it to see what kind of tick it is and what kind of infection it might carry. Otherwise, flush it in the toilet. Wash your hands.

6. Wash the area around the bite with antibacterial soap.

7. Call your doctor if you have any questions or concerns.

I bet the head of the tick is in your skin, after you freaked and pulled the tick out ??
Avoid infection, get an internist to help, use sterilized tools like tweezers and alcohol if digging it out.

If the whole tick is still attached, cut off air to it with some oil and it may leave
of its own accord.

If it's pencil, use an eraser.

Well, a little miniature tick guillotine works good. Another thing is a pair of scissors or wire cutters.
Alice in Wonderland ---- Off with their heads!!

Did you sign up to Instructables just to ask that question?

You need to include more details when you ask something, little things like if the ticks head is attached already to something other than its own body.
