how do you make snow cone flavors syrup?

1 cup o' sugar
1 cup o' water
1 packet o' kool-aid/flavor-aid/wyler's drink

bring to a boil over medium heat till sugar is melted. Allow to cool to room temprature. Pour into container suitable for pouring onto snow cones.

For variations to taste

add 1/2 cup sugar.

or add 2 packets instead of one.

Commerical syrups are mostly chemical cocktails. Usually they are just a simple syrup with a hint of flavor. Just slowly bring to a boil one cup of sugar with one cup of water. Watch carefully on the stove as it can boil over. You can also throw in some light corn syrup for a little more body. Flavorings are usually extracts of some sort (more boiled, reduced, and filtered fruits)- lemon, berries, cherries, coconut or tropical fruit. A drop or two of food coloring before it cools completely should do the trick. I don't think there really is a unique flavor for red or blue, green, etc.
You could try Kool-ade packets for different flavors.
I guess you could go as far as Tang syrup. And get a full weeks worth of Vitamin C at the same time!
 i think tang would taste funny...
